Numbering System

RS Doors uses a coding system for identifying door styles which consists of 3 components. There is a prefix, main section and a suffix code, each separated by a hyphen. Each digit represents a feature of that particular door style. The middle or main section describes the frame profile, panel profile, and style of door (sunrise-00, square-01, cathedral-02, arch-05, double panel-08). The main section consists of 4 or 5 digits. Take the Frame profile number, panel profile number, and the style number, and add up to get your base door style code. For example: 3000 series shaker frame, 500 series solid panel, and 01 square style is a 3501. (3000 + 500 + 01). This also implies a 2 ¼” wide frame.

The prefix code indicates any other frame width. So in the previous example, if a 3” wide frame is needed, then the code is 3-3501. A prefix code can also be used to indicate a Miter door style. Ex.: MD3-2201.

The suffix code indicates any accessory or customization to that door style. This could be a glass frame door (G), mullion frame door (M), drawer front with narrow rails (FN), drawer front with wide rails (FW), applied moulding (AP), a split door (S), or beadboard panel (BB), as well as numerous other options. In our previous example, a 3-3501 drawer front with wide rails would be a 3-3501FW.
